Report right whale sightings

If you see a right whale, please report the sighting immediately by calling one of the following numbers.

  • U.S. Coast Guard on marine VHF Ch. 16

  • 877-WHALE-HELP (942-5343)

  • 888-97-WHALE (94253)
    (volunteer sighting network maintained by Blue World Research Institute)

Please be prepared to provide the following information:

  • accurate time and location (e.g. GPS)

  • description of the sighting (how many whales, etc.)

  • Which way are the whales swimming

  • Take Pictures/Video if possible

Work with Government Officials

Let your representatives know you support the slow down areas along the coast of FL durning calving season. FL has a 10 knot "no wake" for manatees let's do the same for whales.
